About
Argo Factory launches Argo’s “Maghaaze” in the late 1980s and later until the early 1990s to sell and distribute its products in several neighborhoods in Tehran. The shutters of the last one, located at the current location of the Argo Factory, were pulled down before the Revolution.
Today, Maghaaze will operate as a museum shop on the Argo Factory in a 4 x 5 square meter space on the ground floor of the building. The shopkeeper is independent and each season will see a unique curation of products.
Maghaaze (مغازه) comes from the French word “Magasin” and is rooted in an Arabic etymon: a place where the objects are regularly arranged.
In Persian today, the word is equivalent to a “Shop”.
